How to Monitor Device Temperature for the PXIe-5663

Hardware: Modular Instruments>>RF Measurement Devices>>PXIe-5663

Problem:
I would like to monitor the device temperature of my PXIe-5663 automatically in my program. How can I do this?

Solution:
NI-RFSA expose the device temperature of your vector signal analyzers via the NI-RFSA property node. As you can see in the figure below, there are three temperature properties exposed by the driver.

  • Device Temperature: This returns the current device temperature of the PXI-5600 or PXIe-5601 RF downconverters in degrees Celsius.
  • LO Temperature: This property is only applicable to the PXIe-5663 when configured to use the PXI-5652 as the local oscillator. This property returns the current temperature of the PXI-5652 associated with the PXIe-5663.
  • Digitizer Temperature: This property returns the current temperature of the digitizer associated with the PXI-5600 or PXIe-5663. This property is only supported when the RF downconverter has an appropriate digitzer associated with it:
    • PXI-5600 associated with a PXI-5142 (PXI-5661)
    • PXIe-5601 associated with a PXIe-5622 (PXIe-5663)

To monitor the above temperatures, simply place the niRFSA Property node with one or more of the properties listed above, selected to read, after the driver session has been committed. As an example, these properties have been added to the RFSA Getting Started IQ shipping example:
