How to Remove Programs Manually from the Add/Remove Programs List

Primary Software: NI Installers
Primary Software Version: N/A
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
My computer reported errors when I tried to use the Add/Remove Programs National Instruments Software wizard to remove an NI driver, so I manually deleted the files myself, but there is still an entry for the NI driver in Add/Remove Programs that I can't remove.

Solution:
The easiest solution is to reinstall or repair the broken driver and use Add/Remove Programs again, so that Windows can remove the driver's files. Although counter-intuitive, reinstalling often fixes the damaged files, so that the driver may be properly removed.

If this does not work, then see Microsoft KnowledgeBase Q247501, which outlines the procedures for removing entries in the Add/Remove Programs list or all versions of Windows.

Note: This procedure will not delete or remove the program. It just takes the entry off the Add/Remove Programs list. This technique is intended for computers that have programs that cannot be removed but which have been deleted manually.
