Ports for the PCI-232/2 Do Not Show Up Inside of Device ManagerHardware: Serial>>RS-232>>PCI-232I/2
Problem: I am using the PCI-232/2 serial hardware with my Windows computer. The serial card gets auto-detected and installed by the operating system, and I can see the listing for the PCI-232/2 but there are no references to the new serial ports under the ports (com & lpt) tree. Why can't I see the ports for this card inside of device manager? Solution: Be sure you have downloaded the latest version of NI-Serial that is known to work with your specific setup. Next, try forcing Windows to recognize the device. This is done by uninstalling the PCI-232/2 from device manager.
If the ports do not seem to be properly configured, you will have to manually change them to work with the National Instruments driver.
