What is the IELog.html File in a Citadel 4 Database?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>DSC Module
Primary Software Version: 6.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Lookout

Problem: I have created a Citadel 4 database in Lookout 5.1 and earlier or LabVIEW DSC 6.1 and earlier. After the database files are created, I noticed that a file called IELog.html exists. What is this file?

Solution: The IELog.html is a file that can be used to display function calls made by these application environments to Citadel using the Logos protocol. As calls are being made to Citadel, this file updates a table with general information such as a timestamp value and a description of the call being made. This information is not meant to be deciphered by a user, but may be helpful in troubleshooting a Citadel issue by representatives at National Instruments.

By default, logging to this file is not enabled. Complete the following steps to enable logging:

  1. Access the registry of the computer by clicking the Start button, selecting the Run… option and type Regedit.
  2. In the registry, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE»Software»National Instruments»Citadel»IELogger
  3. Modify the Priority entry to be 1. This enables the logging.
  4. Modify the Lines entry to be something between 5,000 and 10,000. This will provide for an ample number of logs to the file before old entries are replace with new entries in a circular buffer fashion.
Again, this information may be helpful for National Instruments' developers to analyze Citadel communications and will not be very useful for a user.
