Incorrect PID Update Rate Error (-70108) with NI 7340 and NI 7350 Controllers in MAX

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-Motion/FlexMotion
Primary Software Version: 7.6
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7350, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7340, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7342, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7344, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7350, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7352, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7354, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7356, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PXI-7358, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7340, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7342, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7344, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7346, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7352, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7354, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7356, Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7358

Problem:
I correctly set the PID rates in Measurement Automation Explorer (MAX) to valid values (as described in the NI 7340 and NI 7350 hardware manuals and the "Enable Axes" VI/function help).

When I try to initialize my controller from MAX, I receive error -70108 (NIMC_PIDUpdateRateError) PID rate specified is too fast for the number of axes and/or encoders enabled. What is wrong and what can I do to resolve this issue?

Solution:
This error may be caused by a bug in NI-Motion. Please make sure you are trying to use valid PID Rate values before assuming the error is caused by the bug described below. A chart containing the valid PID rates for the NI 7340 and NI 7350 motion controllers can be found in the "Enable Axes" VI/function help.

If you have determined that you are selecting valid PID rates and you are still receiving error
-70108, you have most likely run into a bug in NI-Motion that will be fixed in a future release.

Workaround
After initializing the NI-Motion controller, use the "Enable Axes" VI/function to set the PID rate. This VI allows you to set the PID rate to all of the valid values without returning an error.
