Boot Problems With the PCI-MXI-2

Hardware: VXI/VME/MXI>>MXI Interfaces>>PCI-MXI-2

Problem: I have a PCI-MXI-2 card. I just changed the PCI User Window to 2 Gb. I did not realize that my computer did not support this and when I tried to reboot - the computer would not reboot. What is wrong? How can I fix it?

Solution: The PCI user window is used in mapping addresses from different VXI devices. Most computers will only support a limited window size. When configuring your hardware, however, there are options to allocate up to 2 Gb. At this time, if you select a window size that your computer does not support, your computer will hang on reboot.

The only way to solve this is to reset the eeprom. To do this, please see pages B-2 and B-3 in the PCI-MXI-2 Configuration Reference manual (linked below).
