Problem:
What are the common installation issues associated with installing NI VideoMASTER software?

Solution:
When installing NI VideoMASTER software, you must consider several caveats. This document addresses some common installation issues.
  • The installation order of the required software is important. The following software is required for the NI VideoMASTER software to run:
    • LabVIEW 8.2*.
    • NI-SCOPE 3.4.0 or later
    • NI-HSDIO 1.5.3 or later
    • NI-SWITCH 3.7.0 or later
    * If LabVIEW 8.2 is not installed when VideoMASTER is installed, a run-time environment is installed with the necessary components to run selected parts of VideoMASTER and optional test sequencers.
LabVIEW must be installed first, followed by the instrument drivers listed above. Then, once these conditions are met, VideoMASTER can be installed.
  • If a version of VideoMASTER prior to 2.0 is installed, this version must be uninstalled before installing the current version of VideoMASTER. Also ensure that all remaining files from previous installations are removed manually. VideoMASTER does not support parallel installation.
  • VideoMASTER does not provide support for NI TestStand 4.0. It only provides support for NI TestStand 3.5 or 4.0.1.
  • If the VideoCTU (Video Connection and Triggering Unit) or BNC-2172 VideoMUX (Video Multiplexer) are being used, all VideoMASTER software and its corresponding components must be installed first so that the plug&play driver installer has access to all the necessary files.

Also, when actually installing (plugging in the USB cable) the VideoCTU or the BNC-2172 VideoMUX you must point the system to the location of the MxVideoCTU.inf file which, by default, is located at C:\Program Files\microLEX Systems\VideoMASTER\VideoCTU.
