A Task Created in DAQmx Base Does Not Appear in the DAQmx Task Name Constant Drop Down Menu

Problem:
Why does the DAQmx Base task I created not appear in the drop down menu of the DAQmx Task Name Constant?

Solution:
The DAQmx Task Name constant will only show NI-DAQmx Tasks. To implement the DAQmx Base Task in LabVIEW, follow these steps:

  1. Right click the control
  2. Select IO filtering
  3. Check the Allow Undefined Names option and click OK.
  4. Type in the name of the task created for your device.

This will allow LabVIEW to recognize the task.
