Problem: When should I use the DASYLab Rainflow module ? Solution: You can use Rainflow counting methods to calculate a characteristic quantity or a characteristic function out of an arbitrary complex stress-time-function to analyse a system. The frequency of the different events is relevant for the stress anaysis and the comparison of the damaging effects. The range of the stress function will be classified into classes before counting. The different algorithms count peaks, ranges and level crossings of these several classes. The result of the counting, which lost information about signal frequency, oscillation form and order of succession, is called frequency distribution or collective. Counting methods are divided in one- and two-parameter algorithms. Related Links: Attachments:
