Accelerometer Resonant Frequency Control Missing in DAQmxHardware: SCC>>Modules>>SCC-ACC01
Problem: When setting up an accelerometer channel in Traditional NI-DAQ, I have the option to set the resonant frequency; however, when setting up an accelerometer channel in NI-DAQmx, that option is nowhere to be found. Is that option hidden somewhere, or does it simply not exist? If it doesn't exist, how can I accomodate my need for a resonant frequency setting? Solution: The resonant frequency control with Traditional NI-DAQ is never actually used. Originally, it was in place so that the driver could auto-select the low-pass filter setting for whatever hardware the user had (assuming that hardware supported low-pass filtering). Essentially, for accelerometer measurements you want your low pass filter setting to be just below the resonant frequency. Since the resonant frequency was never directly used in Traditional NI-DAQ, it was done away with in NI-DAQmx and replaced with the device specific panel where the user can directly set his low-pass frequency. If the hardware supports low-pass filtering, the panel to set it is located under the "Device" tab, which is right next to the "Settings" tab in the setup window that is displayed by highlighting a channel in Measurement & Automation Explorer.
