My Spectral Measurements Toolset (SMT) Application or Example Cannot Find 'Windows Parameters.vi' Primary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Spectral Measurements ToolkitPrimary Software Version: 1.1.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: 1.1.2 Secondary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Sound and Vibration Toolset
Problem: A Spectral Measurements Toolset (SMT) example or application cannot find a sub-vi labelled 'windows parameters.vi' after loading. Solution: This problem will occur if the Sound and Vibration Toolset (SVT) v 2.0 was installed prior to the installation of Spectral Measurements Toolset v 1.1.1 (software for use with the NI PXI-5660). The reason for this issue lies in the fact that both of these toolsets share the same underlying layer of software, the Spectral Measurements Library (SML). This software contains software algorithms for performing frequency domain measurements. A previous version of the SML software (used by SMT 1.1.1) contained a VI called 'windows parameters.vi'. SVT 2.0 ships with a newer version of SML than that contained in the SMT 1.1.1 installer. If the SVT 2.0 installer is run, the latest SML gets installed onto the computer. However, if SMT 1.1.1 is installed after SVT 2.0, it will see that the SML software is already installed and not overwrite it. However, the version of SML that is already installed is newer and no longer contains a VI named 'windows parameters.vi' (it was renamed). Install SMT 1.1.2. SMT 1.1.2 updates itself to look for the newly renamed SML VI instead of the obsolete name of 'windows parameters.vi'. Related Links: Attachments:
