Problem: How do I install NI OPC Servers and use it with the LabVIEW DSC Module? Solution: An evaluation version of the NI OPC Servers application installs with the LabVIEW 8.x Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module. This evaluation version has no expiration date and is fully functional for two hours before requiring you to restart the application. This will allow you to develop your code but not to practically run a server. You can activate the NI OPC Servers evaluation copy through the NI License Manager once you have purchased it by navigating to Start»Program Files»National Instruments»NI License Manager. From here, locate the NI OPC Servers entry, then select Activate from the shortcut menu, after which the Activation Wizard will walk you through the rest of the process. If you are building a DSC run-time application, you can insert the DSC Module disc into the destination machine and choose to only install NI OPC Servers. You will need to have a valid NI OPC Servers license for your deployment machine as well, and you can follow the same procedure through the NI License Manager application to activate the product.
