Why Doesn't My Disconnected License Work On Non-Administrator Accounts? Primary Software: Other NI Software>>NI Volume License ManagerPrimary Software Version: 2.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Full Development System, LabVIEW Development Systems>>Base Package, LabVIEW Development Systems>>Professional Development System, Other NI Software>>NI License Manager
Problem: I am using a Disconnect License and installed the disconnected license on the client computer. I installed the software that my disconnected license applies to (LabVIEW, TestStand, Labwindows/CVI, etc.) and am able to run from the Administrator User login. When I login as a non-Administrator user, the activation dialog appears. Why is that? Solution: This is most likely due to Windows permissions for the the Disconnect License under the user account. Log into your Administrator account, go to the folder where the licenses are installed (default location is at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\License Manager\Licenses), and make sure that the user has proper access to the license file. Right-Click on the license file, then, under the Security tab, check to make sure that your user is granted access to the license file. If not, grant the user access. Related Links: Attachments:
