How to Control Counter Direction After Upgrading from E Series to M Series Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQPrimary Software Version: 8.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ
Problem: If you have a VI written for an E Series board, then replace your board with an M Series, your counter will not be able to detect the count direction. Solution: The up/down control does not work as it did before because the "Externally controlled" option in M Series for edge counting in NI-DAQmx uses PFI10 (pin 45) instead of P0.6 (pin 16) as it did with the E Series. If you upgrade your DAQ Board and you want to externally control the direction of your counter, you have to change the control from P0.6 to PFI10.
