Difficulty Retrieving the Basic Calibration Certificate
Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)
Problem:
If you are having trouble generating a Basic Calibration Certificate, you might be trying to pull a certificate for a device that is not calibrated, or you are entering the wrong kind of serial number. Follow the steps below to resolve the problem.
Solution:
- Make sure the device is issued a calibration certificate at the time of manufacture by checking the Calibration List located at http://www.ni.com/pdf/support/us/calibpricelist.pdf.
- Each device is issued a calibration certificate at the time of manufacturing, but only if there is a part number and price listed on the Calibration List.
- A device will not be issued a calibration certificate if it is not listed on the Calibration List, or if it has a N/A under the Basic Calibration Certificate Part Number column.
- A few Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) devices require that the device be sent to NI for calibration and can be issued a hard copy calibration certificate only. This is noted on the Calibration List with a † character next to the device.
- Make sure you are using the device serial number and not the kit serial number. The device serial number is a six or seven digit hexadecimal number found in Measurements & Automation Explorer or on a serial number sticker on the device.
Note: Some devices with sub-assemblies have multiple serial number stickers because each sub-assembly and the assembled device receive unique serial numbers. If your device has multiple serial number stickers, try using each serial number. One number works and the others do not.
