Windows Version Compatibility with LabVIEW

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems
Primary Software Version: 2017
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I am not sure if the LabVIEW and Windows versions I have are compatible. How can I find out whether they are compatible?

Solution:
If you have an operating system other than Windows, refer to NI LabVIEW Operating System Support.

The following table shows the compatibility between LabVIEW versions and different Windows operating systems. If the version you are looking for is not listed, refer to the LV Windows Compatibility spreadsheet under the Attachments section. Operating system compatibility can always be found in the LabVIEW readme files.

  Compatible Version

Note:
  • Starting with 6.0.2, LabVIEW should run on newer, unlisted versions of Windows without error messages, but these are not officially supported.
  • Windows XP x64 is not officially supported.
  • Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 support applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.
  • LabVIEW Education Edition shares compatibility with LabVIEW 2009 and the Windows operating system.
  • Starting with 2016, LabVIEW supports Windows 7 SP1, but not RTM.
Since the release of LabVIEW 8.2.1, NI has standardized OS support such that when a new version of LabVIEW is released, the corresponding toolkits and modules have the same compatibility as the LabVIEW version. If a module or toolkit does not have the same Windows compatibility as the corresponding LabVIEW version, the OS compatibility information will be noted in the readme file for the module or toolkit. For example, caveats for the FPGA module are listed in the readme_fpga.html file in the installation folder (the folder containing setup.exe and the support files).
