Problem: When I plug in multiple NI or other third party USB devices, they seem to malfunction. Why does this behavior occur? Solution: Some laptops and desktop computers do not supply the required 500mA at 5V to each of their built-in USB ports. This causes certain devices to malfunction, depending on the order they are plugged in. The solution to this issue is to obtain a USB hub that is externally powered. Be sure to chose a powered USB hub which can produce enough power for all of your devices. This issue is more prevalent in laptops due to their smaller power supplies. Related Links: Attachments:
