Lighting Options Do Not Show for Smart Camera

Problem:
When configuring a light for my Smart Camera in Measurement & Automation Explorer or Vision Builder AI, why are there no options available under the Select Light section?

Solution:
The preset light configurations are stored in *.ild files located in the \Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Data folder and a registry value is used to populate the Select Light list with the lights in these files. Sometimes after installing Vision Builder for AI 3.5 or later and then installing an upgrade to NI-IMAQ 4.0 or later, the installer removes more of the registry than it should and does not put the values back, causing the lighting options to not appear. To fix this you can simply repair the Vision Builder for AI installation by following these steps:
  1. Go to Start»Control Panel
  2. Select Add or Remove Programs
  3. Highlight National Instruments Software and select Change/Remove
  4. Highlight NI Vision Builder AI 3.5 and select Repair
