LabWindows/CVI Conversion Error from Measurement StudioPrimary Software: Measurement Studio>>.NET SupportPrimary Software Version: 7.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabWindows/CVI Development Systems>>Base Package
Problem: I have Measurement Studio 7.1 installed, and I am using LabWindows/CVI to develop my application. I want to convert my existing CVI project using the LabWindows/CVI Conversion Wizard, but I get the following error, "Measurement Studio cannot find the LabWindows/CVI installation directory." Solution: This problem might occur if you have an error in your registry settings or your localization settings. Registry Settings First, check the registry of your machine at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\CVI\7.0. Look at the InstallDir value and verify that the path is valid. Also, look at the CompatibilityMode value and verify that it is set to Msvc. Measurement Studio looks in this location to find the LabWindows/CVI installation directory, so you could get this error if the InstallDir path or compatibility mode value is missing or invalid.Localization Settings Also if you are using Measurement Studio 7.1 or earlier on a foreign operating system, this problem could be related to the localization settings on the system. Try changing your system's regional setting to English (USA) and try running the Conversion Wizard again. Select Start»Control Panel»Regional And Language Options and specify Standard as English (USA). The error is caused by an invalid value for the digit grouping symbol setting on the Number tab. Invalid values include: blanks(_), slashes (/), semicolons (;), dashes (), and equal signs (=). By selecting English (USA), this grouping symbol is set to the comma (,). Now you should be able to use the conversion utility. You can always revert back to your previous settings once you have finished using the conversion utility.
