Receiving DaqComponent Toolbox Installer Error When Installing Measurement Studio Support for Visual Studio 2005 Primary Software: Measurement Studio>>.NET SupportPrimary Software Version: 8.0.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: 8.0.1 Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I currently have NI-DAQmx 8.x installed on my system with .NET support. I am now installing Measurement Studio support for Visual Studio 2005. However, during the installation process, I get an error about a failure to create a toolbox item (Refer to attached "DaqComponent.bmp" snapshot). Why is this happening and how do I correct this? Solution: The installer returns this error when Visual Studio 2005 is unable to load the component to add it into the toolbox. This usually occurs if some dependency of the component (in this case, the DaqComponent control) is missing. Other Measurement Studio functionality is not affected. To be able to use the DaqComponent, re-install NI-DAQmx 8.x and make sure to enable Measurement Studio for DAQmx in the installer feature tree. This should be automatically enabled once the DAQ installer detects Measurement Studio on the system. Selecting this option will install any missing assemblies on your system. After installing NI-DAQmx, launch Visual Studio 2005, right-click on the toolbox, and select "Reset Toolbox". This will add any missing Measurement Studio controls on the toolbox which in this case is the DaqComponent. You do not need to re-install Measurement Studio support for Visual Studio 2005. The DaqComponent control requires Measurement Studio for Visual Studio 2005 and is not freely available with NI-DAQmx. Related Links: Attachments:
