Which NI Signal Generators Support Scripting?

Hardware: Signal Sources (AWG/FG/AO)>>Arbitrary Waveform and Function Generators

Problem: I want to use the scripting functionality of the NI-FGEN software, what hardware must I use?

Solution: For a board to be able to support scritping it must be based on the Sychronisation and Memory Core (SMC) Architecture. In terms of National Instruments Signal Generators, it is only the Arbitrary Waveform Generators, not the Function Generators that are SMC-based.

The Arbitrary Waveform Generators that support scripting are:
  • NI 5421
  • NI 5422
  • NI 5441
  • NI 5442
