Can I Use the Default Counter Out Line as a Digital Input?Hardware: Counter/Timers (TIO)
Problem: Can I Use the Default Counter Out Line as a Digital Input? Solution: E-Series Yes, but only if the counter is not being used to output a pulse or pulse train. The default counter output is physically hard wired to a PFI line. Therefore, even if you route the Ctr0InternalOutput to a different PFI line, the pulse train will still ocurr on the default pin. If you try to configure that pin as a digital input, you will receive error "-200022: Resource requested by this task has already been reserved by a different task." M-Series If you are using an M-Series board, you have more routing flexibility. The default counter output is not physically hard wired to a PFI line. When you route the counter's output to a different line, the default PFI line disconnects from the counter output. Therefore, you will not see the counter's output on the default counter output PFI line. Also, if the counter output has been routed elsewhere, the default counter output PFI line is available for digital I/O during the counter output task.
