Using 5B modules with M Series DAQ Devices

Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>M Series, Signal Conditioning Other>>5B Series

Problem:
Can 5B modules be used with M Series DAQ devices?

Solution:
Yes the 5B08 backplane can be connected to PCI, PXI ,PCIe, and USB mass termination M Series DAQ devices. 5B modules can then be added to the 5B08.
The following accessories are needed:

1. A cable type SHC68-68-EPM to connect to the M Series board
2. A 68M-50F adapter MIO-16
3. A 26-pin ribbon cable
4. A connector block

Connect the SHC68-68-EPM to the DAQ board, use the MIO-16 adapter to connect the other end of the SHC68-68-EPM to one of the 50-pin connectors (J1 or J2) on the SC-2050. Connect the ribbon cable SC1 from the 26-pin AIO connector on the SC-2050 to the 5B08 backplane. If you are using external power, connect it to the designated screw terminals and set the jumpers appropriately.

For more details, view the figure below.

NOTE: The SC-2050 will not show up in Measurement and Automation Explorer as an accessory for the M Series card. This is not a problem, as the signals are still routed properly. Please see the 205x User Manual link below for the SC-2050 pin-out configuration.
