Missing Dynamic Link Library Error while Configuring a CAN Card on an Real-Time System with a Host Computer.

Problem: While configuring a CAN card for use with the Real-Time controller, the attached message appears when the NI-CAN Remote Config executes.

Solution: The message is occurs because the NI-CAN driver was not loaded on the firmware. In order to properly load the firmware follow these steps in the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX):
  1. Select Remote Systems
  2. Click on the RT controller
  3. Select the firmware tab
  4. Right click and select Install Firmware
  5. Select NI-CAN from the list and press OK
The RT controller will reboot twice after booting the system run the Remote Config and the CAN will be detected properly.
