Why are the digital I/O port numbers on my 6025E not the same as the manual when using Traditional-DAQ?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Full Development System
Primary Software Version: 8.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation Explorer

Problem:

When using the extended DIO ports of the 6025E in Traditional-DAQ, the port numbers do not match up to the documentation. In the February 2007 E series user manual in the section "100-50-50-Pin Extended DIO I/O Connector Pinout" on page B7, the ports are listed as 0,1,2,3, but these actually match up to ports 0,2,3,4 in Traditional-DAQ. The ports are correct in DAQmx.

Solution:

This manual is meant to contain DAQmx-specific information where applicable.  As written in the manual introduction:

The E Series User Manual contains information about using the National
Instruments E Series and several B Series data acquisition (DAQ) devices
with NI-DAQ 8.0 or later.

The older E Series Help file (.chm) contains Traditional-DAQ info.  The newest documentation always matches DAQmx terminal names.

Here are the port numbers for the 6025E in DAQmx and the corresponding port numbers in Traditional-DAQ.

DAQmx Traditional-DAQ
Port 0 Port 0
Port 1 Port 2
Port 2 Port 3
Port 3 Port 4
