DAQPad-1200 Device Not Responding to First IRQ Level Using Windows

Hardware: Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ>>DAQPad-1200

Problem: After installing a DAQPad-1200 on a Windows computer, attempting to use test panels in Measurement & Automation Explorer returns the error "The device is not responding to the first interrupt level. Do you wish to continue?" Why does this error occur?

Solution: Some versions of Windows disable interrupts for LPT devices by default, whereas previous versions enabled them by default. To correct this issue, perform the following steps:
  1. Open the Windows Device Manager and expand the "Ports (COM & LPT)" category.
  2. Right click on the LPT port and select Properties.
  3. In the LPT port Properties window, select the Port Settings tab and change the Filter Resource Method to "Use any interrupt assigned to the port."
Windows may require you to reboot your machine for this change to take effect.
