Why do I get Error -50003 when Running an FPGA VI on my Real-Time Controller?

Problem:
I recently upgraded to NI RIO 2.3 and received an error when attempting to run an FPGA VI on my RT controller. The same error occurs when running the VI with an Open FPGA Reference from a host interface VI.

Solution:
Error -50003 is incorrectly reported when trying to run an FPGA VI on a Real-Time Controller that has not had NI RIO version 2.3 installed on the controller but NI RIO 2.3 was installed on the host machine. When this occurs you will receive the following error message:

To correct this issue, you should install NI RIO 2.3 to the Real-Time Controller from Measurement and Automation Explorer ( MAX)
