Enabling and Disabling Power to a Motor in LabVIEW Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-Motion/FlexMotionPrimary Software Version: 4.5 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Professional Development System
Problem: How do I programmatically power off and on my motor when using NI-Motion in LabVIEW? Solution: Use the Stop Motion.flx VI with Kill as the Stop Type input to cut power to the motor in LabVIEW. In order to re-enable power to the motor without sending a signal to move the axis, use the Stop Motion.flx VI with Halt as the Stop Type input.
Using the Enable Axes.flx VI with the Axis Bitmap input set to False will cut power to the axis but setting the input to True will not automatically turn power back on. After enabling the axis you will need to add the Stop Motion.flx VI with Halt as the Stop Type input in order to turn power back on to the motor. Related Links: Attachments:
