NI-FGEN LabVIEW Upgrade Issue: NI-FGEN 2.0 or 2.1 to 2.2 or later

Problem: The polymorphic VI called niFgen Create Waveform (poly) changed in NI-FGEN 2.2. Instance VIs within the polymorphic VI were renamed and reordered.

An upgrade problem can occur if all of the following are true:

1. A VI from NI-FGEN 2.0 or 2.1 is opened in NI-FGEN 2.2 or later


2. The VI uses niFgen Create Waveform (poly).vi


3. The instance VI was manually selected, instead of automatically resolved by data type.

In this case, the old niFgen Create Arbitrary Waveform VI, which took floating-point data, can be incorrectly replaced with the new niFgen Create Arbitrary Waveform (I16) VI, which takes integer data. Conversely, the old niFgen Create Binary 16 Arbitrary Waveform VI, which took integer data, can be incorrectly replaced with the new niFgen Create Waveform (DBL), which takes floating-point data.

Solution: To correct the problem, reselect the instance of the polymorphic VI. Either select automatic resolution by data type, or manually reselect the correct instance for your data type.
