NI-VISA on Linux - Graphical Test Panels and Configuration Utility

Problem:
Are there any graphical configuration or troubleshooting utilities available for NI-VISA on Linux?

Solution:
The Graphical Test Panels for NI-VISA on Linux can be accessed by executing the NIvisaic command from the Linux console.
  • NIvisaic offers an easy to use test panel to allow you to communicate with your device just like on Windows
  • It can be used to auto detect GPIB instruments
 

The Graphical Configuration Utility for NI-VISA on Linux can be accessed by executing the visaconf command from the Linux console.  visaconf is used to configure all aspects of NI-VISA on Linux.  Using visaconf, you can:
  • Enable/Disable/Configure passports
  • Add devices (E-Net, static serial ports, etc...)
  • Add remote systems
  • Configure security settings
