Will a PCI-1408 or PXI-1408 Work on a Real Time Operating System? Problem: I have a PXI-1408 and I am trying to use it with LabVIEW Real-Time on a real time operating system. I have NI-IMAQ 3.x or higher, but the 1408 is not showing up in the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). When I try to run my LabVIEW program with IMAQ VI's I am always getting an error telling me that the board cannot be initialized. Will a PCI or PXI-1408 work on a real time operating system with NI-IMAQ 3.x or later? Solution: Unfortunately, the PCI-1408 and the PXI-1408 do not work with LabVIEW Real-Time if you are using NI-IMAQ 3.0 or later. The best solution would be to upgrade your hardware to either the PCI-1410 for use on an ETS PC, or to the PXI-1409 for use on a PXI RT system. If you absolutely need to use the 1408 with LabVIEW RT, then you can revert back to the NI-IMAQ 2.6.1 driver (or earlier). Of course if you do this, you will have to use an earlier version of LabVIEW Real-Time that the IMAQ 2.6.1 (or earlier) driver has support for. If you need help on installing IMAQ 2.6.1 (or earlier) on a real time operating system with LabVIEW RT, please refer to the Knowledgebase document linked below.
