Error -61488 after a LabVIEW FPGA Code Compilation Failure

Problem:
I am using a FlexRIO system and my computer froze while compiling my FPGA VI. When I try to run the VI again after rebooting, I receive the following message:

Error -61488 occurred at an unidentified location.

Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW FPGA: An internal software error in the LabVIEW FPGA Module has occurred. Please contact National Instruments technical support at ni.com/support with the following information:

A required XML tag was not found.


How can I fix this error and compile my code?

Solution:
This error has been identified to occur when using LabVIEW 2011 and  a FlexRIO device. Error -61488 indicates that your project file may have become corrupt. To resolve this error:
  1. Create a new project.
  2. Add your FPGA adapter I/O into the project.
  3. Copy your VI(s) into the new project.
  4. Recompile.
