My Hardware Dongle Does Not Works Anymore Primary Software: Electronics Workbench>>UltiboardPrimary Software Version: 5.71 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: Electronics Workbench>>Ulticap
Problem: I have a legacy version of Ultiboard or Ulticap that uses a parallel-port hardware dongle, is broken (or lost) and I can't use my software anymore. Where can I get a replacement dongle? Solution: Legacy versions of Ultiboard and Ulticap 5 and prior, as well as some special editions of Multisim 2001 (6), 7 and 8 were required to use a parallel-port hardware dongle for license verification purposes. These hardware dongles were given an EOL (end-of-life) by the 3rd party supplier that manufactured them, and are no longer for sale. After this EOL happened, the Electronics Workbench product line stopped using a hardware dongle. Current versions of the software use the National Instruments License Manager and Volume License Manager to license the products, no hardware is required. Unfortunately, If you have a legacy software edition that requires a hardware dongle and is no longer working (misplaced, broken, no parallel port in new computer, driver not supported in newer Microsoft Windows® OS, and so on) NI will not be able to provide a replacement since there is no longer a supplier for it. You may consider upgrading to the latest Multisim or Ultiboard edition. Related Links: Attachments:
