Why Do I Get an Error When Using the 783XR Calibration Procedure?

Hardware: Reconfigurable I/O (RIO)>>R Series>>PCI-7833R

Problem:
When I use the 783XR Calibration - Initialize External Calibration.vi it produces an error stating the loop ended before the calibration was completed. Why do I get this error and how can I solve it?

Solution:
This error is caused when the LabVIEW code is not fully setup. The manual, NI 783xR Calibration Procedure for NI-RIO (link below), does include an example code diagram for this procedure; however, the dummy Calibrator Output.vi does require more explaining.

To achieve the correct code the output of the CalibrateOnBoardReference.vi goes to a Calibrator Output.vi.  The dummy VI updates the AO values of the calibrator to the new expect values which are connected to the AI channels of the data acquisition (DAQ) device (for example).

If you’re using a DAQ board then you would need to use the DAQ API to update the DAQ board. The code and diagram can be found in the attachments. Please remember to connect the voltage output of the calibrator to all 8 channels of the 783XR.

If your calibrator doesn't have an interface with the PC, it is possible to place a wait or dialog to wait for the user to update the calibrator with the appropriate voltages.

Note: It is recommended to send the device into National Instruments for calibration.
