What is the Resolution of the Trigger Delay on the NI 5112? Hardware: Modular Instruments>>High-Speed Digitizers (Scopes)>>PXI-5112
Problem: In the documentation for the PXI-5112, it states that the trigger delay can be set between 40 nanoseconds and 171.85 seconds. But what is the resolution of the trigger delay? For example, can I specify 41 ns, 40.1 ns, or 40.01 ns? Solution: The resolution of the trigger delay is one sample clock period. If you specify a sub-sample clock period delay, NI-SCOPE changes the timestamp but will still use the same sample as before. To attain minimum trigger delay resolution, you must run at the maximum sample rate, which is 100 MS/s, giving a trigger delay resolution of 10 ns. If the trigger delay resolution is set to 10 ns, then the trigger delay can be set to 40 ns, 50 ns, 60 ns, etc. Related Links: Attachments:
