How Can I Generate a Waveform on an NI Signal Source that Was Previously Acquired on an NI Digitizer?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-FGEN
Primary Software Version: N/A
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
How do I acquire and save a waveform to a file with an NI Digitizer and then read the waveform and generate it with an NI Signal Source?

Solution:
Here are two methods for performing this task:

  1. This can be done using LabVIEW. See the attached example program.

  2. Use the FGEN and SCOPE Soft Front Panel. Here are the details to implement this method:

    1. Run the Scope Soft Front Panel and use the pause button to obtain the desired waveform. Go to File » Save to save the waveform to file. In the notes for the specific file, be sure to include the sampling rate.
Note: The waveform you acquire must be at least 256 samples in length.
    2. Run the FGEN Soft Front Panel and select the arbitrary waveform mode. Go to File » Load New Waveform to load your waveform from file. Use the notes for the file to set the appropriate generation rate.
Note: The waveform must be generated at the same rate it was acquired.
