In Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), how can I relink my [compact]FieldPoint system to a newer IP address?

Primary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation Explorer

Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2010, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2110, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-1808, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2120, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2100, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-1804, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2020, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2000, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-2010, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-2015, FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1600, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2200, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2210, Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2220

Problem:
I have configured a [compact]FieldPoint system on my local subnet with plans to move it to another subnet. I save the MAX IAK file and import it on a computer on the new subnet with the [compact]FieldPoint system. However, MAX now shows the system configuration on the new subnet and an offline copy of the system from the old subnet. Is there any way I can link the new system to the IAK configuration from the old system?

Solution:
Relinking the configuration from a previous system setup involves updating the IP address to reflect the current system location.
To assign an IP address to one system (the old system configuration from the imported IAK file) when the IP is currently assigned to another system (the current system setup), complete the following steps:

  1. Delete the system that currently has the IP address from Remote Systems.
  2. Right-click the new system under Remote Systems and select Change IP (Offline).
  3. Enter the IP address in the dialog box that appears, then click OK.
The previous configuration will now be applied to the current [compact]FieldPoint system.
