IVA and IVB SubVIs

Primary Software: Vision Assistant
Primary Software Version: 8.0.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Vision Builder for Automated Inspection

Problem:
I am getting an error that tells me I am missing one of the IVA or IVB subVIs. What are IVA and IVB subVIs, and where can I find them?

Solution:
An IVA subVI is a VI that was created by performing a "Create LabVIEW VI..." from Vision Assistant.

An IVB subVI is a VI that was created by performing a "Migrate Inspection to LabVIEW..." from Vision Builder for Automated Inspection.

If you get an error telling you that you are missing one of the IVA or IVB subVIs, you can find the specific VI by searching your hard drive for it, or you can find them in the following directories, and then in the .llb related to the name of the missing VI:

IVA:

  • C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Vision Assistant x.x\CG\IVA Templates LVxx-Visionxx.llb

IVB:

  • C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI x.x\LV\SubVIs

Note: x.x is the version of your software.

You should also consider upgrading your version of your software so that you don't get the missing subVI error when generating LabVIEW code from Vision Assistant or from Vision Builder for Automated Inspection. You can also try reinstalling your Vision Assistant or Vision Builder for Automated Inspection software and make sure there is support for your version of LabVIEW.
