Problem: I created a footprint in Ultiboard and want to link it to a symbol in Multisim, but why does it not show up in the Multisim user database?
Solution: After creating a footprint in Ultiboard you need to define this footprint in Multisim as well. To do this:
- In Multisim, place the symbol on the work area
- Double click on it and select Edit component in db >> Footprint
- Click on Add from database, under Database name highlight the 'User database'.
- Click on the Add button
- An 'Add a Footprint' dialog should appear. In the Footprint field, type the name of the footprint and be sure the check your spelling. Leave the 'EWB layout field' empty but add information for the other fields, once finished click OK
.
- Press Select to select the footprint you just defined.
- Press OK to save to component to your database.
