Configuring Inputs/Outputs in Vision Builder for AI and Migrating Inspection to LabVIEW

Primary Software: Vision Builder for Automated Inspection
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I created an inspection in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (Vision Builder for AI) for the Compact Vision System (CVS). For the inspection, I went to Tools»Configure Inputs/Outputs, and I configured pulse generation, part ready signal source, and static digital output. The inspection works great in Vision Builder for AI, but when I generate LabVIEW code from my script, the inputs and outputs I configured are not ported into LabVIEW. Why does this happen?

Solution: The inputs and outputs setup through the Tools»Configure are for the Vision Builder for AI environment only. The same functionality must be programmed in LabVIEW, which leaves you more freedom to customize the VI. Examples of how to program the inputs and outputs on a CVS are found at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\examples\NI 1450\NI 1450 Signal IO.llb.

If Static Digital Output steps are in the VBAI script, those VIs will be included in the LabVIEW program when migrating.
