How Do I Set the Serial RS-485 Transceiver (Wire) Modes Programmatically With NI-VISA?Hardware: Serial>>RS-485
Problem: Can I programmatically change the transceiver mode of my RS-485 hardware? Solution: NI-VISA 2.6 and later supports changing transceiver modes of National Instruments RS-485 Hardware programmatically. This can be accomplished in LabVIEW by using a VISA Property Node or by making VISA function calls in other programming languages. Refer to the NI-VISA User Manual linked below for more details. Note: This feature is not currently supported with NI USB-485 Devices. In order to set the desired operating mode for these devices, set the RS-485 transceiver (wire) mode in the Device Manager, and the desired mode will be set when the VISA resource is opened. To set the transceiver (wire) mode in Device Manager, select the RS-485 port and click on Properties. Go to the Port Settings » Advanced section to change the mode.
