How Do I Move an Instrument Driver Outside of the LabVIEW Instrument Library?

Primary Software: Instrument Drivers/IVI>>LabVIEW Plug and Play Driver
Primary Software Version: N/A
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software:

Problem:
What steps are required to move an Instrument Driver folder that is located in the Instrument Driver Library to another location and have LabVIEW link it to an application?

Solution:
You can use the VIs in the Instrument Driver Library in your application to control the functionality of your instrument. However, if the Instrument Drivers are moved from the Instrument Library, LabVIEW will not be able to link the VIs needed by the application to the correct Instrument Driver folder. The folder should be moved by simple deployment, that is, all Instrument Driver VIs should be included in one folder that will be transferred. The steps needed to link the Instrument Driver folder to the application are shown below.
  1. Go to Program Files » National Instruments » LabVIEW X.X » instr.llb.
  2. Move the desired Instrument Driver folder to your desktop.
  3. Open LabVIEW
  4. Open the application that uses the Instrument Driver VIs.
  5. In the Find VI box, select the correct location of the Instrument Driver folder on your desktop and left-click OK.
  6. In the Load Warnings Summary box, left-click Ignore.
  7. Go to File » Save All and then close the project.
When the application is opened again, the path to the Instrument Driver VI will be corrected and the application will open without having to search for the VI. This method works even if the Instrument Driver folder and the application are moved to another computer.
