Using the Update Clock on a DAQPadHardware: Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ>>DAQPad-MIO-16XE-50
Problem: I have routed the update clock signal of my DAQPad-MIO-16XE-50 to PFI5 pin with LabVIEW's Route Signal.vi, but I cannot detect the pulse train with my digital logic probe or any of the analog input channels. The strange thing is that I can detect the update clock on PFI5 for a PCI or ISA board using the same approach. Solution: Wire PFI5 of the DAQPad to the input of a counter. Perform simple event counting, and you will indeed see the update clock. The actual current drive on the DAQPad is lower than its PCI/ISA counterparts, which is why only the DAQPad's counters could detect the update clock.
