Exporting the NI-HSDIO Generation Session Sample ClockHardware: Digital I/O (DIO)>>High-Speed>>PCI-6552
Problem: If I configure my NI-HSDIO generation application to export the sample clock, why do I see this sample clock before I initiate the session? Solution: This is expected behavior. When configuring a generation session, the sample clock is started when you write your data to the device using the niHSDIO Write Named Waveform.vi. Although your clock starts before initiating the session, data is not yet generated. This property is taken advantage of in the shipping example called Dynamic Generation and Acquisition-Source Synchronous (TClk).vi. In this example, if the above behavior was not true and the clock did not start before initiating the generation session, the acquisition session would generate a clocking error because it started first.
