Adjusting Brightness and Contrast for 16-bit ImagesPrimary Software: Vision AssistantPrimary Software Version: 8.0.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: In Vision Assistant, if I try to use the Brightness function on the Image menu, it tells me that the Brightness step only supports binary, 8-bit, and RGB images. If I am working with a 16-bit image, how can I change the brightness of my image? Solution: With NI Vision 6.0 and later, you can use other functions on the 16-bit image to adjust the brightness or contrast. These functions can be found on the Grayscale menu, specifically the function called Operators. Use the Add or Subtract operators to increase or decrease the brightness, respectively, and use the Multiply or Divide operators to increase or decrease the contrast, respectively.
