PCMCIA Installation in Windows NT

Problem: How do I install my PCMCIA DAQ board on Windows NT?

Solution:

Note: You must have administrator privileges to add new hardware on Windows NT

Due to the lack of native, fully compliant, Plug and Play support in Windows NT, there are several third party socket drivers, which come pre-installed on most systems. These third party socket drivers overcome limitations of the standard Windows NT PCMCIA driver. For example the Windows NT socket driver (pcmcia.sys) does not provide dynamic resource allocation and "Hot Insertion" of PCMCIA cards. (Insertion while the PC is running).

Note: All versions of NI-DAQ prior to 6.9.2 were written for use with the native Windows NT socket driver. Version 6.9.2 has been tested and is supported to be used with Card Wizard 5.10.x.
