Why is my DAQmx Device Not Listed in LabVIEW DAQmx VI's?
Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers
Problem: My device shows up in Windows device manager and MAX. I am able to run a test panel in MAX on my DAQmx device. However, my DAQmx device does not show up in DAQ Assistant, DAQmx Global Channel vi or DAQmx Virtual Channel vi.
Solution: This usually happens when driver support for LabVIEW is not installed. There are two common causes of this:
- Installing your LabVIEW software after your hardware drivers
- Upgrading your LabVIEW software
When the drivers are installed in the correct order they automatically include support for all of your LabVIEW versions. However if you install a LabVIEW version after installing your drivers, LabVIEW support for that version is not automatically included. A simple fix is to modify your driver and include support for the LabVIEW version you are using.
- Go To Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs >> National Instruments Software >> Change/Remove
- Select the your hardware driver from the list of National Instruments Software
- Click Modify
- Include Support for LabVIEW

Note: If this does not work simply uninstall and re-install your hardware driver.
