Why Are Undocumented User-Defined Functions Installed with Measure?

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>Measure
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I noticed that after I installed Measure for Windows, over 100 functions appear in my "User-Defined" functions list (Insert » Function... » Function Category: User-Defined). Some examples of these function names are "AddEscapeSequences", "BeforeRunningTask", "BuildCommDCB", and "CheckInvalidEditBoxLength". I cannot find any documentation on these functions. What are they?

Solution: Whenever you install Measure for Windows you have the ability to use Measure functions in your VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) script in Microsoft Excel. Some of these functions include "DAQ", "CheckSRQ", and "CloseGPIBInstrument". These functions are documented in the Measure User Manuals (see Measure Support link below). All of the undocumented functions you see in the "User-Defined" list in Excel are internal functions that are used by the afore-mentioned documented functions.

Note: National Instruments does not provide support for VBA programming in Excel. Please visit the Microsoft Developer's Network (linked below) for VBA programming resources.
