Why Do I Get "No Device Found" When I Try Use the "Device Location" With My FP-16xx?

Problem: I am looking for a FP-16xx on a different subnet. I am trying to connect using the Enter Device Location Tools Option from Remote System Explorer in FieldPoint Explorer. However, I keep getting the message "No Device Found at address", even though I know that it is configured at that address. Why am I getting this message?

Solution: Only FP-20xx series of controllers can be configured across subnets. The FP-16xx series use a different configuration protocol that is not capable of cross-subnet configuration. Therefore, you need to configure the FP-16xx while on the same subnet.
