IMAQ Vision Library Does Not Show Up in LabWindows/CVI

Primary Software: LabWindows/CVI Add-ons>>Vision Development Module
Primary Software Version: 6.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: After installing IMAQ Vision, the IMAQ Vision Library option does not show up in LabWindows/CVI.

Solution: IMAQ Vision 6.0 released in two versions, one for LabVIEW and the other for Measurement Studio. Only the Measurement Studio version provided support for text based programming including LabWindows/CVI. IMAQ Vision 6.1 and 7.0 only released for LabVIEW and do not provide support for LabWindows/CVI. IMAQ Vision 7.1 and later combined support for LabVIEW and text based programming languages.

If a supported version of Vision is being used with LabWindows/CVI, first make sure that you have installed support for LabWindows/CVI when installing IMAQ Vision. If you have support installed, you need to link the "nivision.lfp" User Library through CVI. To link the Library, do the following:
  1. In CVI 6.0 or earlier, select Options»Library Options»Browse. . . to open up the customize library menu. In CVI 7.0 or later, select Library»Customize. . .

  2. Add your nivision.lfp file. It is usually located in the folder..\National Instruments\Measurement Studio\CVI\bin or ..\National Instruments\CVI70\bin. You may have to select 'Show all files *.*' to see the *.lfp format.

  3. Once you find the nivision.lfp file, select it

  4. Restart CVI for the changes to take effect.

IMAQ Vision should now be a selection under the Library Menu.
